Finding the Best Balance Transfer Credit Card Offers
Are you tired of paying for your credit card bills with large interest rates? Or perhaps, you want a way to pay off your credit card debt without spending so much on interest fees? If you are, then a credit card balance transfer is for you.
The first thing you need to do is look for another credit card that can make it easier for you to pay for all your credit card debt. You have to realize that some credit cards are better than others. Here are the things you should look for when you are considering to apply for a new credit card:
- Low introductory rate - First of all, if your current credit card requires you to pay a high interest rate, you have to consider applying for a credit card with a low interest rate. There are a lot of balance transfer credit cards available that offer low interest rates and even zero interest rate for a limited time period of 12 months. With this, you can save yourself hundreds or even thousands of dollars paying off your current credit card debt. This is because, with a zero interest rate, every cent you pay for your debt will be deducted from the actual debt and not on the interest rate.
- Transfer fees - Some balance transfer credit cards can charge you a small fee to make the transfer. However, there are available credit cards that offer free balance transfer. Look for a credit card that offers low balance transfer fees or look for one that doesn't even have balance transfer fees.
- Rewards - Of course, if it is possible, you would want a credit card that also offers rewards, such as hotel stays, free cruise offers, car rental offers, points to earn to get gifts and more. Whenever you use your credit card, you will earn points, as you let the points accumulate, you can exchange it for gifts or rewards.
These are the things you should look for in a balance transfer credit card. However, before you start applying for a balance transfer credit card, you should always remember to read the small print. Sometimes, you will discover hidden fees printed and you should be aware that some banks do this to attract customers. Most people tend to neglect what is printed in the small print.
If you don't, you might end up discovering that you have to pay some extra-unexplained fees. Balance transfer credit cards are a great way to pay off your credit card debts.
However, when you apply for a balance transfer credit card, make sure that you pay off all your credit card debt in the given time period of the introductory period to avoid getting high interest rates again.
Another thing that you should remember is that you should ask if how much the interest rate will be after the low interest or zero interest rate introductory period expires. This will allow you to determine if this credit card is worth continuing or if it is time to look for another credit card that offers lower interest rate.

Prepaid Credit Cards: A Great Way to Rebuild Your Credit History
So you've had some debt problems - maybe due to something outside your control such as a divorce. Now you're getting your life back on track, but there's a problem. Because of your bad credit record, no-one wants to lend you money any more.
Well, don't despair! With prepaid credit cards, no credit checks will be made against your name when you apply. As long as your age, residence and social security number check out, approval is normally guaranteed.
Here's how prepaid credit cards work. You apply just like any other credit card, but with prepaid credit cards you also deposit a sum of money in a linked bank account. Initially at least, the amount of money in this account then becomes your credit line.
Obviously this means that, to start with anyway, you can't use a prepaid credit card to borrow money. However, the best cards report to the three main credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion) every month. As long as you use your card responsibly, your actions will help to repair your credit record, or indeed to establish one for yourself if you haven't had credit before.
Within a few months, if you have shown that you can use your card responsibly, you are likely to be offered a bigger credit line by your card issuer. With your ever-improving credit history, you may also be able to apply successfully for a standard credit card or other forms of credit, such as a bank loan.
Your prepaid card can be used just like any other credit card to buy things, whether on-line, over the phone or in person. There is nothing on the card to reveal that it is prepaid. The only people who will know this are you and your card issuer. So if you need to buy things using a credit card and can't otherwise get one, a prepaid credit card could be the ideal solution for you. And all the while you will be rebuilding your credit history as well!
One drawback with prepaid credit cards is that, unlike ordinary credit cards, you may be asked to pay a processing fee when you apply. This is in addition to the money you will have to deposit with the issuer as security. If you regard this as a stepping stone to establishing a good credit record, however, this one-off fee is literally a small price to pay.
Prepaid credit cards are available from a growing number of issuers. One example is the New Millennium Bank, which offers a prepaid Platinum Visa® or Mastercard®. As well as the benefits mentioned above, the NMB card offers $100,000 travel accident insurance, extended warranty protection, and a special high introductory savings rate on your deposit.

The Credit Repair Organizations Act
What Credit Repair Organizations Can’t Do
They cannot make false claims about what they offer. This constitutes false advertising and is severely sanctioned. Moreover, in certain situations companies could be prosecuted and charged for fraud. Those companies who claim to provide you with a new identity or other illegal actions definitely fall into this category. You need to be extremely careful as participating in illegal activities like document’s falsifications, lying to lenders or government agencies and making up a new identity constitute crimes that imply severe legal consequences.
If Credit repairing is the only service they offer, according to the law they are not entitled to charge you until their services have been provided. Requesting money in advance is strictly prohibited unless they provide other services like credit counseling, debt negotiation, consolidation, legal advice, or any other service not related with credit repair. If a credit repair company wants to charge a fee in advance you should doubt of its legitimacy and make sure there are other services provided before working with them.
Also, until you sign a written contract with them, they are not authorized to perform any action towards repairing your credit, not even pulling your credit report. Moreover, after you sign, you still have a three day period to cancel the contract without consequences. That is, you have a legal right to take back your authorization within a three days period without legal or economic consequences. It’s just like if you had never signed the contract.
The Credit Repair Contract
The contract must acquire a written form, spoken contracts are forbidden if the aim of the contract is to provide credit repair services in exchange for an amount of money. The contract has to include a specification of all the charges you’ll have to pay leaving absolutely no cost out of this statement. No money can be requested from you other than what is specifically included in these figures.
It also has to include a complete description of all the actions about to be taken by the credit repair company in order to help you improve your credit. You need to analyze this description thoroughly as some actions may affect your credit in a negative way at the beginning and you may not be able to request finance for some time till they finish their job.

"Initial Delinquency" and What it Means to Your Credit
Prior to the Fair Credit Reporting Act most bill collectors would change the date on the accounts regarding the last payment made. Thus, when the account was turned over for collection, the consumer was not aware of the change made in the dates. This meant that the consumer was deprived of knowing "when the account would be taken off his/her credit report". This is known as the seven years in which adverse information can be reported on your credit report. The Federal Trade Commission has identified the initial delinquency date as the date "in which you first became delinquent and never got caught up". THAT IS LAW. Virtually all the violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Practices Act will fall under this.
Do not be overpowered by misinformed individuals. This is where Section 623(A)(5) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act becomes important in that it clearly defines your rights as a consumer regarding the reporting of accurate information and the dates in which an account was originally opened and when it was first late.
Next article I'll finish going over initial delinquency and cover just how some information that reported about you simply is not true.
Tanning Bed Bad Credit
Pale, white, greenish living things would be roaming the earth if the sun didn't exist. I think we would all be less happy persons. Imagine a world in which everyone is pale white and looks the same. Brrrr - I can't even think about it! Well, thank God the sun exists and even better, a tanning bed.
Why?
Many people don't have the sun available for them any time; for example during winter, or rainy days. So if you're one of those people that just can't live on looking dead white, a tanning bed always comes in handy.
But what if you can't afford one? Those things can come in pretty expensive... from $1500 to $6000 depending on the quality of the bed. I don't think much people have that amount of money sitting down waiting to be used... Alas! The tanning industry is always getting bigger and bigger while more and more teenagers want to be scorching red when they leave their house.
The Market Boom
Never before has the world seen so much fever about wanting to get a tan, especially among teenage girls. They want to really impress the boys with their looks so they'll do almost anything to achieve it.
You can be the one that delivers them the quality of service they want... but only if you had a couple of tanning beds... Its tough isn't it? Especially if your credit isn't going as good as it should – bad credit. That could surely ruin any chance you might have into starting your own business, right?... Well actually no, because there are many ways to still get those beds with your credit score the way it is.
Think the words... "Refinance your credit"
It's not as tough as you might think. Hundreds of thousands of people do it all the time. But how, you ask? By following the right guides and steps to take of course. You can also consider getting al can and claim you will start a business... but I wouldn't recommend that as much as refinancing your credit first because it could seriously backfire on you.
The Best Way to Improve Credit Scores
Less than 6% of the population in the United States can brag about having FICO credit scores above 800. It's an elite club.
The benefit of having a score above 800 is that you're guaranteed credit approval with the best terms from the best lenders. No hassles. Only the red carpet treatment.
But do you really need to have FICO credit scores that are 800 or higher to accomplish your goals? I don't think so. Any score over 740 is worthy of celebration.
You may have scores in the high 500's or low 600's, and you may think "740, yeah right!" But if you follow the steps I'm about to outline, you will see your scores approach 740 and you will become much more attractive to lenders.
So how do you go about building your FICO scores to 740?
I can't tell you specifically, because I don't know what your negative reason codes are. You see, the secret to increasing your FICO credit scores is for you to understand your negative reason codes.
Negative reason codes are a boring topic to people with good credit.
But to people that had credit challenges in the past, it can mean the difference between continuing to be denied credit or hearing those wonderful words, "You're approved."
Your negative reason codes are the keys to unlock credit doors that up until now have been slammed in your face. The great thing about negative reason codes is there is no guesswork involved. Your negative reason codes will tell you everything you need to do to accomplish your goals of buying that new car you always wanted or getting approved for that mortgage with a single digit interest rate and no money down.
By understanding and acting on your negative reason codes lenders will no longer treat you like a second-class citizen. No more "special finance" departments. No more high-interest finance companies. You can look for an apartment or begin house shopping with confidence.
Powerful stuff. And it's easier than you think.
First of all, negative reason codes are two digit numbers that accompany each of your credit scores.
When you purchase your FICO scores you should automatically receive four negative reason codes for each score (from each credit reporting agency), giving you a total of twelve codes.
...as long as you purchase your scores and codes through the right source.
The best place to purchase your scores and twelve negative reason codes is NOT myfico.com. You don't receive all twelve negative reason codes from myfico.com.
Technically, you receive four negative reason codes and eight "positive" reason codes. Unfortunately the positive reason codes are absolutely no help to someone with low credit scores.
I was so frustrated that Fair Isaac didn't give all twelve negative reason codes that I begged Fair Isaac to make the real negative reason codes available to the public. So after several months of me prodding them, they finally gave in and created www.myfico.com/12 for us. Through this site you get everything lenders see! Cool.
Mortgage lenders are another good source to get your scores and negative reason codes when you apply for a mortgage. Just be sure your mortgage company follows the new FACT Act and shares your scores and codes with you. It's mandatory now.
Alright. So now you know what negative reason codes are and how to get them.
How do you know what these codes mean?
The definition of each code is explained with your credit scores.
For instance, a negative reason code "38" will be defined as: "serious delinquency, and derogatory public record or collection filed." A negative reason code "08" is defined as: "too many inquiries last 12 months." So your negative reason codes tell you exactly why your scores aren't higher.
Unfortunately, the definitions provided by the credit reporting agencies are not as detailed as I would like. That's because they were designed to help lenders explain why you were declined...not designed to be shared with consumers.

Find the Very Best Credit Card Offer
Check your mailbox on any given day and you are likely to find one, two, three or more offers to get a credit card. Most offers on the surface look pretty good, but you’ll have to do some digging before you find one that is a real hit. Are you considering opening up a new credit card account? If so, let’s take a look at what makes a worthwhile offer for card seekers everywhere.
No Annual Fee – It simply amazes me that anyone would still pay an annual fee to use a credit card. Oh, sure, that pretty jet black or platinum card certainly looks exclusive but is it worth your while to pay $30 or more per year for the privilege of using a particular card? I doubt it!
No Rewards – You must be kidding me…no rewards offered? With credit card competition at a fevered pitch, it only makes sense that you be rewarded for the troubles of using a card. Most cards will assign you one point for every dollar spent and those points can be redeemed later on for gift cards, movie tickets, hotel stays, airline miles, you name it. Better are those cards that give extra points for select purchases such as visits to the drug store, for groceries, or for trips to the gas station.
Low APR: Does it Matter – Granted, if you pay off your credit card every month then the APR you are being charged simply will not matter. 0% or 30%, you still avoid fees that can sock the average person.
Balance Transfer Option – What decent card doesn’t give a balance transfer option to card holders? Better yet, will that card allow you to transfer funds without paying a transfer fee? No card is worth getting if you are assessed a transfer fee even if the APR is fixed for a certain amount of time.
Other Amenities – Travel insurance and roadside assistance are valuable options if offered for free. On the other hand, credit monitoring services and credit card insurance are not worth your trouble and you probably will find that fees will be assessed to you account if you were to sign up. Simply stay away from cards promising nifty amenities that cost you plenty in the end.
So, check out the fine print and apply for those cards meeting your litmus test. If they fail to give you something better than the average card then simply shred the offer and move on to the next one.

Alternative Ways To Fix Your Credit!
Though there is not a quick way of reestablishing credit, these tips can aid you in the process. Patience is necessary since raising your credit score won’t happen in a day or two. It can take months or even years to rebuild your credit history depending on the amount and seriousness of the delinquencies that have affected your credit.
Make Sure Creditors Are Reporting All Your Timely Payments
You can have creditors adding good information to your credit report. Creditors are not required to report information to any of the three credit bureaus. After obtaining copies of your credit reports, make sure to note if there are any creditors with whom you have a good history that haven’t reported this to the credit bureaus.
If this is the case, contact them and ask them to release the information to the credit bureaus. For a small fee, a credit bureau will contact your creditor. Simply call and give the credit bureau your creditors name and phone number. Positive repayment information can help neutralize some of the negative information on your credit report.
Transfer Your Credit Card Balances Successfully
A credit card system is a type of retail transaction settlement. It is named after the small plastic card issued to cardholders. A credit card differs from a debit card wherein, money is deducted from the users's account on every transaction. In the case of credit cards, the issuer offers a credit for a secified amount of time to the consumer.
Credit cards are also different from a charge card, which requires the balance to be paid in full each month. In contrast, credit card holders can 'revolve' their balance with an additional interest being charged on it. Most credit cards follow the ISO 7810 standard and are of the same shape and size.
Credit card transfer is an equitable way of managing one’s credit card debt. The transfer of balance of one credit card to another often helps with the ‘Teaser Rates’ or the introductory rates that are generally offered by major credit card companies a couple of times a year. Usually, teaser rates last for either 3 or 6 months once the card is received. An interest rate is levied depending upon the offer available on the card (which may vary from 0% to up to 9%). It relieves the cardholder of a substantial amount of debt in case he/she transfers the balance from a higher interest rate to a lower one.
Some salient points to be kept in mind for a successful credit card balance transfer are as follows:
1. Timely transfer of balance of credit card. It should not overlap the relevant period as that may result in interest charges being levied upon the cardholder.
2. Availability of zero credit card money transfer on time.
3. Make yourself aware of the offer available on the credit card. Read printings on the promo sheet to gauge its process.
4. Transfer all credit card balances to normal interest card as the store cards may have higher APR rate.
5. Be well informed about the comparison of the two cards against their interest rates and their credibility. A financial broker can help decide upon the choice of a good and interest free credit card, or a lender that offers zero introductory balance rates.
6. Be aware of the expiry date of the zero balance credit card so that it can be re-applied for well in time.
7. As soon as one receives the new credit card, make a call to the lender to improvise your plan of money transfer from the previous one.
8. Do not opt for offers or privileges that may not be of much immediate use (like insurance policies, etc.)
9. Once the transfer of balance from the previous credit card to the new account is completed, close the former account and destroy the card.
10. As the new account now has zero introductory rate, one would be required a minimum rate to repay every month during the stipulated period.
Ensuring all these tenets can help towards a successful transfer of your credit card balance. However, the best way of maintaining one’s inflow is to avoid exceeding expenditure with respect to what you earn.
