Discover® Card Ranked Best-in-Class for Online Fraud Protection Service and Information; Credit Card Monitor Report Recognizes Discover For Excellence
RIVERWOODS, Ill. -- Discover Financial Services LLC, a business unit of Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS), today announced that its fraud protection services and online customer security center at Discovercard.com have been ranked number one in a comprehensive, third-party report on the credit card industry.
The Credit Card Monitor Report, published by leading market research firm Corporate Insight, named Discover "Best in Class" for its fraud information and protection services, based on the excellence and accessibility of its online fraud protection center and identity protection tools. The results of the report underscore the consistent third-party recognition Discover has received for excellence in fraud protection services, including its top listing in 2005 by Javelin Strategy & Research.
"Consumers today are using their credit cards more than cash or checks - and with that comes their need for complete fraud protection," said Steve Furman, Marketing Director for E-Commerce at Discover Financial Services. "Discover works hard every day to fight fraud and identity theft so Cardmembers may use their cards with confidence and peace of mind."
The Corporate Insight report evaluated the online fraud protection programs of all major credit card companies and issuers for capabilities that included visibility, ease of use and quality of resources. Discover ranked first in the industry on several counts and was recognized as one of only three companies offering the additional protection of a single-use account number program - Discover Card's Secure Online Account numbers - for online purchases. The report also commended Discover for offering the lowest-cost "lost wallet" credit monitoring service for customers.
As part of its free, integrated customer protection offering, Discover's advanced fraud early warning system constantly monitors each of its 50 million Cardmember accounts, with fraud specialists calling Cardmembers immediately if unusual account activity appears.eCredit challenges dominance of credit cards with new online payment service - Company Business and Marketing
